Your Trips and Events

CELAC offers a lot of student activities each semester. Stay up to date with CELAC happenings!

Cultural Trips

  • CELAC tuition includes at least one cultural trip per semester.

  • Cultural trips are a great opportunity for students to learn about American culture and practice English outside of the classroom.

  • CELAC cultural trips vary each semester and are subject to change without notice.

  • Examples of past trips include:

    • Visiting New Mexico's Capital City, Santa Fe

    • Touring Native American Pueblos

    • Hiking at National Monuments

    • Attending local festivals such as the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta

CELAC Initiatives

  • CELAC Initiatives are extra-curricular clubs that students may participate in as they wish.

  • These initiatives are organized by CELAC instructors to give interested students more opportunities to practice English, learn about American culture, and meet other students.

  • Information about how to sign up to participate in these initiatives will be shared with students after they begin classes.

  • Initiative topics vary each term depending on CELAC instructors and student interest.

  • Examples of CELAC Initiatives from previous terms include:

    • Book Club

    • Film Club

    • Conversation Partners

    • Dance Club

    • Hiking Club

    • U.S. History Club

Local Activities

  • We encourage our students to explore all New Mexico and the United States have to offer while they are attending CELAC!

  • Local events and activities are recommended throughout the program term for students to explore the local community. These events are optional and may involve outside fees.

  • CELAC shares these activities through email announcements, classroom flyers, instructor announcements, and social media to give students greater access to the community.

  • Please note that these extra activities are not organized by CELAC and are not included in CELAC tuition.
